There are three respects about how I chose SAL for my studies in English. First, I would consider my friend's suggestion. One of my friends who was a student of SJSU told me that SAL is a good place for learning English. Then I compared some other schools with SAL on Internet and finally decided to apply SAL's program. My another concern was that some of my relatives and my friends live near San Jose. It is not only convenient but also economical for me to live with one of them. The final reason why I chose here is that I like the weather and environment in California. The sunshine here is comfortable and the air here is fresh. Besides people who live in California usually looks very relaxed and kind. According to these reasons, I chose here for experiencing American life and learning English.
When I decided to study in SAL, I thought about several reasons why do I come here. First, I was in Wisoconsin which is located north side, so I wanted to move the other side which has good weather in winter. That is why I chose San Jose to study English. You can say in California there are many cities which have good weather. I can say this one is my second reason that I wanted to study near by San francisco. Actually, I wanted to go to San francisco, but there are no school can accept me because it was too late to register. The last reason is I wanted to study in a unversity not a private school.I wanted to experience American school life. Now I am thinking it was great choice to study in SAL. I hope when I go back to Korea, I will be with good memories here.
On May, I applied the SAL program to study English. Before I chose it, I considered about something. First thing that I thought was possibility to experience about American University student's life. I wanted to study English in similar circumstances with American, so I chose SAL program related with San Jose State University. When I was looking for some information about program, I found I can use SJSU facilities and it is possible to take some Open University classes. I thought I can live as if SJSU student if I try. Then I heard about SAL from my father’s friend who already took SAL program 6 months ago. He said he had to do homework until weekend and his speaking skill improved a lot, so He guaranteed about SAL. Finally, I decided to apply this program. Now, I'm living in SJSU dormitory and taking two Open University classes. I believe SAL give great opportunities to me about experiences in American life, and also I believe my English skills will be better.
This is Julia B. The reason that I chose SAL for Studying English is because of the location. The location is very convenient for me because I was not familiar with the city of San Jose at the time. It is easy for me to get there either by light rail or bus. I also did some research on internet and found out that they have the program for helping students to prepare for the TOEFL test and that was what I wanted. I feel that if I want to get a higher score to apply to community college, I really need to work on my witting skill and reading ability. After a few weeks there, I feel very happy I chose SAL as the place for learning English. Not only the location is good but also the teachers and the classmates are awesome too!!
Today, many students in Korea want to study English in foreign countries. Particularly, they want to study in U.S. When I decided to study in SAL, it is difficult for me to determine. At that time, I already had a job. I worked for Mercedes-Benz in Korea. However, I realized that English is the most important thing for my future because English has an critical influence on the promotion. Fortunately, my older brother has lived in San Jose. He recommended me to study in SAL. He has attended construction class in SAL class building. Furthermore, he told me MBA prep. My future plan is applying to the MBA. I’m a lucky person because of catching the opportunity of the study in SAL.
Last December, I finished my fall semester in Korea. Then, I broke university for language training. After brake, when I was looking for school, my dad asked my uncle. “Which school is better for Jungwoo?” Naturally, my uncle suggested me SAL as my English school because he lives in San Jose and one of my cousins is already SJSU student in marketing department. However, I couldn’t convince that “Is it really helpful for me?” At that time, a friend of mine who first went to LA for English said me “It is really good opportunity to increase your English skills. You are very lucky guy” Thus, finally, I decided to go to SAL. Now, I think that my choice was not bad because I’m spending useful time in here for my future.
I did not have any idea to study abroad for TOEFL before my friend recommended going to America. At that time, I graduated the university and studied English myself. However, I did not focus on my studying because there were several assembles that I have to attend and consider about what’s going on. In that period when I was very busy, my friend said to me, “Do not waste your time doing trivial thing. It does not help you develop your career. Go to America where your brother lives in. An experience to live in the USA will be your career in Korea.” After I heard the advice, I discussed that content with my family members for 4 hours, and they finally promised me to support my studying. Therefore, I prepared to go to America, and I had been finding what programs are the best since I found the SAL program that one my friend recommend to me. After I selected the program, I thought what I need to go there. The first step was getting a VISA. For taking the VISA, I contacted to SAL and paid a school fee, and I was waiting for an I-20. Several days later, I got the I-20 from SAL. And then I went to the embassy of USA, and took an F-1 VISA. Finally, I bought a flight ticket. As you are able t to imagine next step, I am here now, and I have been studying English. In sum up, although a story of coming to the USA is longer than I expressed through this paragraph, I think it can explain the reason why I am here.
After my military service in Junary in this year, I should decided my feture way I want to do. It is hard to find a job only with a bachelor degree, so I decide to study in America to get master degree. However, the first problem I need fo face is the English. Thus I decide to go to SAl to improve my language ability. Before I choose the SJSU SAL, I have asked many people's opinipn. A friend of my father recommend I go to San Jose because he live in San Jose. Then I search the imformation on Internet, and I decide the school finally. Hence I apply the course during summer vocation and wait until the school responsed to me. Last of all, I prepare my baggage and take a plane to San Jose to start my another stage of my student life.
When I was a freshman, I decided to go USA to study English after 2 years later because I want to have a lot of experience before I graduate school. My cousin lives in San Jose. That's why I choose the city San Jose. I want to go ESL which belongs to univercity because I can use univercity's dormitory and library. Moreover, I can meet American student so I can understand American student's lives. In addition, my cousin recomended SJSU SAL. Then I choose SAL and I think I had good choice because I like SAL.
Last summer was the summer that I graduated from high school. After I graduated, I went to America to visit my friend who was my neighbor in Taiwan. Frankly, when I was a child, my dream was one day I can study in the U.S.A again. What makes me think of that is because I had studied in the U.S.A for a while when I was a child. Due to my desire and my old neighbor is in San Jose, my parents and I decided to choose San Jose for me to study in the U.S. Furthermore, the reason that I choose SAL is because my old neighbor’ parents heard from their friend that SAL is a good language school of TOEFL test preparation and it has many agreements with other colleges. So that is the reason, I am here.
There are three stapes for me to choose SAL for studying English. First, research the information about the language program. Because I didn't have the TOEFL grade, I couldn't apply the university. Ijust could language student and had I-20 for me to apply the VISA. Second, my purpose is applying the graduate school for studying master program. Thus, I want to find which school I want to apply after I have the TOEFL grade. I need to choose the Language Schools which schools' credit is available for transfering to the university and there are near the university. Third, I need to research which language shcool is the best choise. I asked my friend who is living in America and called to school to get more information about class. At least, I chose SJSU's SAL program. I think it fits my requirements.
I think studying at SJSU might be a good choice, and I want to get a Master’s Degree here. There are several causes that have convinced me to study electrical engineering at SJSU. First of all, studying at SJSU for electrical engineering will allow me to get a good job. There are so many semiconductor companies near San Jose, and they like students who graduate from SJSU. If I study here, I don’t need to worry about a job. It is easier to find a good job after studying at SJSU then studying at another one. Second, my uncle lives in Fremont, so it is very convenient for me to got help. My parents can feel relieved because when I have some troubles, I can get help easier. Third, studying at SJSU doesn’t cost a lot, so I can save money. Compare with other private schools, SJSU doesn’t require a lot of money. Studying abroad has been expensive. My family can’t afford me to study in a private school. For these reasons, I think that studying at SJSU might be the best choice for me.
Studying abroad must have well-organized plan. Therefore, before I went to study English in US, I had to prepare and make my decisions about many things. Also, for me, there are several steps to make my best decisions for my best school. Those are where to live, which program to study, and where to learn. Then I chose SAL for my best choice as well.Studying abroad always takes quite a long time, so students should make their best decision about where is the most suitable place for them. For my viewpoint, firstly, I looked for the best place to live; in addition, I figured out which state and what climate would be the most suitable for me. Actually, I preferred the place that not either too cold or too hot, so I chose California for the first choice. Moreover, I paid attention to my security that why I chose this city, San Jose, though. After that, I also had to find the most interesting program for studying. Accordingly, I wanted to improve my English skills and then prepared myself for TOEFL test. From many choices, it was quite difficult for me to figure out where was the best school I should attend. However, when I compared among several schools nearby, I saw many good advantages and interesting things from SAL. For example, SAL has many good academic programs and also has great qualified teachers.Overall, I think SAL is the best choice and most interesting answer for me now. Because of many reasons above, I love to study and meet everyone here. Although SAL’s tuition fee is quite expensive, the benefits of studying here are more valuable as well.
While I was serving a military, I started to study English. However, it is difficult to improve listening and speaking in English. A year later, my English skill didn’t improve a lot. Therefore, I decided to go abroad to study. It’s difficult decision because I need a lot of money to live in other country. When I was finding appropriate country and collecting information, my uncle living in San Jose recommended me to live in his house. It’s good opportunity for me to study English here because I don’t need to pay to live and have a meal. Then I looked for a language school near to my uncle’s home. Finally, I could find SAL and decide to study English in SAL
